Alhamdulillah, throughout the month of Ramadhan 1446 H, RUMAH ZIS UGM successfully collected a total of IDR 1,021,019,953 in zakat and fidyah contributions. This marks an impressive 32.12% increase compared to last year’s collection of IDR 772,872,285. read more

UPZ UGM Recognized as the Best University – Based Zakat Collection Unit

Yogyakarta, March 5, 2025 – The Zakat Collection Unit (UPZ) of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) has been honored as the Best University-Based Zakat Collection Unit by BAZNAS DIY. The award was presented by the Vice Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta, KGPAA Paku Alam X, during a special appreciation ceremony held at Bangsal Kepatihan, Yogyakarta.

This recognition highlights UPZ UGM’s consistent dedication to transparent and impactful zakat management, including efficient collection, distribution, and oversight. Zakat Distribution for Underprivileged Converts in Minggir Sleman, Supports Faith and Economic Empowerment

SLEMAN – On Tuesday (April 22, 2025), a total of 30 underprivileged Muslim converts (muallaf) in Slarongan Hamlet, Sendangmulyo Village, Minggir Sub-district, Sleman Regency received zakat aid as part of a regular empowerment program run by the Muallaf Dhuafa Minggir community. The initiative aims to combine economic support with spiritual development for new Muslims in need.

The zakat distribution was held alongside the community’s monthly Islamic study session, focusing on strengthening faith and understanding of Islamic teachings such as tawhid (monotheism) and basic fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence).
